Grow Your Own Microgreen Garden!

OMG. I just discovered the COOLEST online service.

There’s this amazing company called Hamama that makes growing your own trays of microgreens SO easy. They send you “seed quilts” so that all you have to do is put them in a tray of water, and then wait a week. No dirt. You don’t even have to water them. They send you the starter kit and everything.

If you’ve never had microgreens, you really should. They are so nutritious and delicious in salads, or just thrown on top of literally any meal. My favorites are pea shoots, sautรฉed for 30 seconds in a tiny bit of olive oil and lemon juice. YUM.

I am growing their Super Salad Mix right now on top of the refrigerator, and I can’t wait to eat them. They barely need any light, because the plants use the energy in the seed at the beginning. They take 7-10 days from start to harvest.

So, you’ll be seeing a lot of yummy microgreens and sprout-y looking things in my meal pictures from now on. ๐Ÿ™‚

Pro Tip: If you decide to order, use the code SUPERGREENS for 10% off at checkout! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Katie! I’m tired of paying $4 at Trader Joes for my micro greens.

Katie, are you still growing these greens?

    • I’m currently in a nomadic phase of life, travelling and living abroad, so I’m not growing them at the moment, but I do so miss my kitchen microgreen garden!

Lucky you to be traveling — and now to boot (amazing!). I’m going to look for microgreens at my healthfood store to try them and see if I can get a better feel for whether it’s something I’ll stick with. Thanks for the quick reply.
